About the Artist
Mark Gibbs works from the West Walls studio
complex in Carlisle, Cumbria, in the North of England.
He says, "Painting frequently is vital - keeping ideas
forming and developing."
Born in 1967 Mark continues a lifelong interest and
commitment to producing visual art. "Painting as a professional
practice isn't merely earning a living; it's an attitude, recognising
the importance of creativity and, at the risk of sounding pretentious,
a commitment to philosophical enquiry carried out with paint rather
than with words."
Since graduating with a first class degree in fine art from Cumbria
Institute of the Arts, he has exhibited; internationally, in London,
and in the North of England. His work is in private and corporate
collections in the U.K. and abroad.
Mark also teaches art at several local colleges as well as on
art holidays and residential courses. Please contact
the artist for further details or proposals.
